Centenarian Celebration Brings Cameras and Dignitaries
Today was a special day at the Simkin Centre. Today we honoured our Centenarians. There were 11 residents who are 100 years old and older. Mr. Terry Duguid, Member of Parliment for Winnipeg South was here to present certificates on behalf of the Prime Minister. All the local news outlets were also here with their cameras. The Honourable Kelvin Goertzen, Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living was here to present certificates on behalf of the Premier. And our own Selma Gilfix, Vice Chair of the Simkin Centre Board of Directors presented certificates from the Centre. Thank you to everyone who came to sing Happy Birthday to our Centenarians and also to our other residents celebrating birthdays in the month of January.
