How We Are Funded
The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre falls under the auspices of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and 66% of the Centre’s funding comes from the Government of Manitoba (Manitoba Health).
Through monthly fees, residents and their families pay 29% of the cost of living at the Centre. The remaining portion of our funding comes from grants and donations.
The annual budget of The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre is approximately $15 million.
We are grateful for the increasing generosity of our donors. Thanks to the success of the “Simkin Stroll,” we have been able to enhance evening and weekend programming at the Centre. Our donors also support Spiritual Care services, music programs, Security, and have helped to establish a Volunteer/Companion Coordinator position. Additional contributions will continue to ensure that The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre remains one of Manitoba’s leading personal care homes.
