What is the Adult Day Program?

An Adult Day Program is a community-based grant funded program of the WRHA.  The program provides social and recreational opportunities to Home Care clients within the WRHA maximizing their independence in the community and providing relief to caregivers.  Adult Day Programs are intended for adults who may be isolated, physically frail, cognitively impaired, living with chronic conditions, and who may have limited ability to access recreational/social activities in the community.

What We Believe

The goal of the Adult Day Program is to provide an outreach program to community members that will enhance their ability to continue living a quality, independent lifestyle in their own homes and prevent or postpone admission to a long term care facility.  This is accomplished by providing an opportunity for the program participants to come to Simkin Centre once a week to interact with peers and participate in a variety of programming which focuses on maintaining physical; social; emotional; intellectual and spiritual functioning.
