World Elder Abuse Awareness
June 15, 2016 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Staff are encouraged to wear purple to honour survivors of elder abuse. There are posters in the Fireside Lounge that will help you identify elder abuse. There is also a draw for prizes. If you show up at the Fireside Lounge wearing purple at 2:00pm tomorrow (Wednesday, June 15th), there will be a group photo taken and it will be posted here. Elder abuse is everyone’s business. #WEADD2016

The Fragrance of Lilacs and Kindness
Today, one of our residents went outside to enjoy this beautiful day and noticed the lovely lilac bushes in the front of the Centre, in full bloom. She walked over to the bush admiring the flowers and fragrance. Seeing her on the security camera, our security guard grabbed a pair of scissors and went outside to meet her. He offered to cut a handful for her so that she could bring them to her room to enjoy. The fragrance of lilacs and kindness are in the air this gorgeous day.
