Welcome

Today we welcomed another resident to the Simkin Centre. When a new resident joins our family, a gift bag is given to them, courtesy of the Simkin/Weinberg Resident Council. Our Resident Council pays for the gift bags and it’s contents. Contained within the bag is a welcome letter from the Council, Simkin building/dept. contact numbers, hand lotion, tissue, notepad, pen, chocolates and shampoo. Cookies, Music and Technology

???????????????????????????????

Yesterday morning residents were busy making chocolate chip cookies. The atmosphere was especially enjoyable with Frank Sinatra singing in the background. In the afternoon, everyone got to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Cucumber Harvest

We posted a picture of our garden a few weeks ago and shared that the residents would be enjoying the harvest. Here are the cucumbers harvested from that garden. Residents got to enjoy them with their lunch.

Spontaneous Bird Experience

Yesterday, we saw a little bird outside in the Simkin Courtyard. By the way the bird was acting, we thought it might be injured. Nurse Febin put his hand out and the bird climbed onto his hand and arm. He was able to show the bird to several residents before the bird regained its strength and was ready to fly away home. Residents were in awe and loved the spontaneous experience.
