Smoothies
Yesterday, we made smoothies. The freshness of summer in your mouth always wakes up the taste buds. (picture posted with permission)

A group of residents went to the Manitoba Legislative Building today. They enjoyed the guided tour which explained its history and architecture. Some residents said that just being in the building was special enough and that they were speechless. There were a couple of residents who remember being there as a child. For others, this was their first time.
Yesterday residents enjoyed “Picnic Memories, Now and Then”. Hula Hoop contests, potato sack races, egg passing, and many more activities took place. Residents loved seeing staff jump across the Tallman Multi-Purpose Room in the sacks. They also enjoyed eating fresh watermellon.
Every summer we organize BBQ’s for our residents. Hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon, baked beans, chips, beverages and music are enjoyed in the Wienberg, Simkin, and Keives gardens. The BBQ’s take place once a week with one unit. Residents enjoy being outside and smelling the smells of outdoor food. We’ve done this for many years and will continue to do it because we know how much they enjoy this experience.
