A CJNU Farewell

On Sunday, January 28th, we celebrated CJNU‘s last day at the Simkin Centre with Dancing. The Shirley Dancers showed up and gave residents and visitors quite the show. Thank you to an anonymous donor for sponsoring CJNU so that we could enjoy a month of live broadcasting from our Atrium.

Paint Nite Fundraiser, a Success!

On January 24th at 7:00 p.m., we hosted a fundraiser called Paint Nite.  We had a terrific group, about 38 people. We raised $600 to support Simkin Centre programs.  It was a time for laughter, creativity, food, and drink – for a good cause.  Everyone benefited.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this fundraiser.

Hosting Radio Station CJNU

The Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre is happy to host CJNU 93.7 FM Radio during the month of January. The radio station will be broadcasting live on Site featuring many interviews with staff, residents, families, and volunteers.

Tune in on the radio, live stream on the internet or watch channel 725 on MTS TV. http://www.cjnu.ca/feeds.shtml

Frying Pans

Thanks to the generous donation made by Rita Helman, we were able to purchase electric frying pans. Pictured below shows staff using the pans to prepare a special meal for residents.
