Simkin Centre Excels at Standards!

We are thrilled to announce that the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre achieved a 12 out of 12 on our Manitoba Health Standards Review.

These results are a true reflection of staff dedication and commitment to our residents. Reviewers complimented our team on their hard work and drive to improve the quality of care at the Centre and encouraged staff to keep up the good work.

A big thank you to our staff who worked so hard to make this happen. We are proud of this achievement.

The Manitoba Health Standards Review Process is a legislated review process which takes place every two years. Over the span of six years all 26 standards are reviewed. Nursing Services, Dietary Services, and Infection Control are just a few examples of areas that are monitored. During this process reviewers tour the facility, review resident charts, and interview residents and staff in order to make a proper determination. Tools for self-reporting are submitted and care homes are required to produce evidence indicating how they are meeting the standards. Unannounced visits are also conducted throughout the year.

This process was implemented by the province of Manitoba to ensure that Manitoba Care Homes are meeting the standards for care required by the law; and the Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre strives to meet and exceed these requirements in order to provide residents with the best quality of care.
