We are pleased to launch the Simkin Care Connection, our newsletter that is designed to inform, inspire and celebrate our residents, families, staff, volunteers, supporters and community at large.
If you appreciate the Spiritual Care services provided at the Simkin Centre, please consider making a donation. These services are provided because of your generous giving. They are not funded by the government. http://www.simkincentre.ca/giving/
In observance of Rosh Hashanah, the cafe will be closed on October the 3rd and 4th.
Every month we plan for a monthly birthday party in the Tallman Multi-Purpose Room. We invite and transport residents living on each unit, assist in feeding residents who need assistance with the assistance of health care aides, and enjoy live entertainment. The date for the party is placed on the Therapeutic Recreation Program Calendars and posted on the unit birthday poster.
Meet Marlene and her cat “Silkie”. Marlene and Silkie visit The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre every Thursday. They spend approximately 1 1/2 hours visiting 3 to 5 residents. They’ve been visiting us since March 2016. While visiting with residents this week, Marlene commented that Silkie was purring more than usual while visiting residents this week. Thank you for giving us your time and sharing your special friend.
